NORMEC NSW Historic Vehicle Logbook Trial 5

As from October 1 2015 the Northern Rivers Motorcycle Enthusiasts Club Inc (NORMEC) will be participating in the NSW Historic Vehicle Registration Logbook Trial.

The trial runs for a period of 2 years and allows members with conditional registered historic vehicles to opt in to 60 days of general use per year (i.e. maintenance and personal use) outside of club organised events.. There is no restriction on the type of use during these 60 days excepting that the vehicle cannot be used for commercial use. Note that use for maintenance or testing purposes is included in the 60 day allowance.

It is the sole responsibility of the member to maintain the logbook “sheet” issued by NSW RMS. Entries in the sheet need to be made prior to the commencement of the journey and the sheet needs to be carried with the vehicle at all times. Where the vehicle is operated by a number of users during a day of use then the name of the first user needs to be entered in the sheet.

NORMEC reserves the right to inspect the logbook sheet at any time.

The logbook scheme is open to both current and new members.

At this stage, NORMEC sets no participation requirements for a member to participate in this trial.

Current members wishing to opt in to the new scheme should email our Historic Registrar at historic@normec.org.au.

Prospective members wishing to make use of this scheme should checkout our Join Us page.

Hi I have just got a 1979 Harley and was hoping on some info. please The bike was imported and I have a letter of import and a receipt from the seller. I was hoping to join your club for some club runs and also the 60 day log book trial. The bike is a one owner and standard.Do I get a pink slip or need a blue slip as the bike has not been on our roads before? Do I download your forms and get a blue or pink slip and take the membership form with the blue/ pink slip into the rta? All new to me and as I have a newer bike for going to work , was hoping to rego the Harley as a classic bike. thanks Scott

Hi Bill looks like the Harley has got the Blue slip and I will ask the mechanic to fill out the conditional rego form you sent. Thanks for that. Next step is getting you or a member to sight the bike, was wondering what is the easiest for you , as I live in Ballina , I was hoping another member or yourself was close, or I can bring the bike to you guys. Thanks from Scott.

            Hi Scott,
Great to hear the Harley is ready.
I’m the only one who can sight the bike and complete the additional form.
Ballina is fine or somewhere on the way.We have members with historics in Bangalow, Wollongbar and Lismore so we’ll be completing a line out from the coast.
I’ll send of an email with my number so we can arrange it.
            Regards,
            Bill
