2016 Black Dog Ride One Dayer – Byron Bay

Riders from Northern NSW will gather in Byron Bay on March 20 2016 for the Byron Bay Black Dog Ride (one-dayer). The Byron Bay Black Dog Ride 1 Dayer is the only Black Dog Ride in Northern NSW north of Port Macquarie.
Registration will open from 8 am at the Cavanbah Centre, 249 Ewingsdale Road. Byron Bay NSW, with stands up at 10 am. Breakfast and Coffee available at Registration. The Ride will conclude at Rocky Creek Dam with lunch provided by Lismore Lions Club.

This will be the most easterly Black Dog Ride 1 Dayer in Australia and is the only Black Dog Ride 1 Dayer between Port Macquarie and the Gold Coast.

Cost: Pre-Register $27.50 Rider / $12 Pillion. One the Day $30 Rider / $15 Pillion.

The Byron Bay Black Dog Ride will be approximately 140 km and will suit all rider skill levels and all Bike types.

Volunteer Opportunities Available:

Media Officer:

This person will be responsible for emailing out the Black Dog Ride 1
Dayer Media Release and Key Messaging documents to local media,
and liaising with local media to arrange interview dates and photo
shoots with the team. They should be confident speaking
with media representatives, and be clear and concise in sharing the
Black Dog Ride mission to media and the public.


The Black Dog Ride community loves to see photos of all the rides.
One or two volunteers to take pics of all the action, before during and after the ride.
The images can be shared with Black Dog Riders across the country to celebrate thousands of motorcycle riders coming together on one single day for one vital life saving cause.

Admin Officer:

This person will oversee ride registrations, both pre-registered and on the day registrations. They will be responsible for on the day registration set and pack away. They will need to reconcile registration funds and donations, deposit them, and liaise with Black Dog Ride in a timely manner with the results after the ride. This role usually includes overseeing other local volunteers.

Registration Volunteers:

Responsible for processing registrations for both pre-registered and on the day registration, collection of funds and donations. Includes set-up and pack-away.

Raffles Coordinator:

This person will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the raffles team and assisting in procuring donations for the raffle. Networking and good communication skills essential.

Raffles Team:

Responsible for selling of raffle tickets on the day and promoting the businesses that have donated to the raffle.

All Volunteers will be covered for Personal Injury while undertaking official duties including necessary travel involved with such.
